How to organise a vanity without buying another organiser

Save what is already on the vanity into Beauty Board first. Then keep the daily face on the surface and everything else in a drawer you can search.

A vanity fills up because every new product wants to live where you get ready. Another acrylic riser will not fix that. The surface can only hold the daily face. Everything else needs a record you can search, or it will creep back onto the glass. Save what is already there into Beauty Board, then let the catalogue decide what earns a spot.

The surface is not a warehouse

Most vanities fail the same way. Daily products sit in a crowd of backups, gifts, and almost-right shades. You cannot see the blush you actually use, so you buy another. The new organiser arrives, you transfer the same pile onto nicer shelves, and the surface fills again.

The physical rule is small. The vanity holds what you used this week. The drawer, the cabinet, and the catalogue hold the rest. How to organise a makeup collection without buying more storage is the grouping method. This piece is only about the counter.

Save the vanity first, not the empty drawers

Do not start with a shopping trip for trays. Stand at the vanity and save every product that is on it. Paste the shop link, or add the bottle by hand with a photo of the label. Mark the ones you reached for this week Using.

That pass usually surprises people. Half the surface is not daily. It is a backup foundation, a palette from last winter, a serum you meant to finish. Those products can stay in the house. They do not need to stay in your eyeline.

If the rest of the collection is still in screenshots, keep every beauty product you own in one place is the longer catalogue method. The vanity is the urgent bit, because it is the pile you touch every morning.

Once the records exist, the sort is fast.

On the vanity. The everyday face: base, the colour you are wearing this month, mascara or brows, one lip, the cream you actually finish. That set is the same one how to build an everyday makeup routine puts on a list. If it is not on that list, it does not need to live on the glass.

In the drawer or cabinet. Backups, occasion makeup, the second blush, hair and body that do not belong next to foundation. Leave them marked honestly. Search the catalogue when you want them, instead of leaving them out "so you remember."

Off the vanity entirely. Anything turned, anything you will not wear, anything you are keeping for the packaging. How to declutter a makeup collection without regretting it is the decision method. The vanity is a bad place to store guilt.

A useful shelfie can follow after this, if you want the surface to photograph as well as work. The photo is optional. The empty space is not.

One in, one off the glass

The vanity stays clear only if new arrivals do not get a permanent seat. When a product lands, paste it into Beauty Board the same day. If it is replacing something on the surface, the old one goes in the drawer or onto empties. If it is a curiosity, it starts in the drawer until it earns a week of use.

You do not need a new tray for that rule. You need the catalogue open on your phone while you unpack the bag.

Clear the glass this week. Save what you lift. Put back only the face you will do tomorrow. The organiser you already own is suddenly enough.
